Bridge City Motors proudly presents this RARE & beautiful 2006 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works GP!! Only 2,000 GP models were produced worldwide, with 415 of those imported to the U.S. Assembled in Italy by Bertone, the GP package increased horsepower to 215 and deleted the sunroof and rear seat to reduce weight by around 100 pounds. A unique, GP-Specific aero kit, bespoke 18″ alloy wheels, and a few other factory modifications gave the GP a decidedly sportier look compared to the standard car. This particular GP has been mildly modified as detailed below and is now being offered with service records, two car covers, the original radio, some spares, and a clean title.

All GPs were painted Thunder Blue with a silver roof and red side-view mirror caps. GPs also featured the unique combination black leather seats with Checkmate cloth center inserts accented by red stitching!

This car is #1393 of the 2,000 total built as denoted by the factory roof sticker shown above as well as a plaque on the dashboard. The carbon fiber rear-wing is also unique to the GP along with a body aero treatment including flared rocker panels and a deeper front bumper. In the interest of weight savings, all GPs had the rear seat deleted with a thick rear strut tower bar put in its place.

The split four-spoke 18″ alloys were only fitted to the GP and show a few marks as highlighted in the photo gallery. They are wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires. Aftermarket suspension upgrades consist of a Madness Motorworks 22mm adjustable rear sway bar and Vorschlag adjustable front camber plates; the OEM rear sway bar is included with the sale. Stainless steel brake lines have also been fitted for more consistent pedal feel.

Although marketed as a lightweight track model, the GP came with a full set of creature comforts including leather-trimmed and heated sport seats, air conditioning, power windows/mirrors/locks, and more. A Bluetooth JVC CD stereo head unit replaces the OEM radio, which is included. An unused set of factory floor mats are included, still in their box.

GP’s were fitted with a 1.6 liter supercharged four-cylinder motor supplemented by the John Cooper Works power kit and paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. With 215 horsepower at 7,100 rpm and 184 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm, the GP was the most powerful “new” Mini sold-to-date in 2006. The engine has been left stock aside from a Madness Motorworks JCW high-flow air intake.

The previous owner performed their own maintenance using Red Line and Motul fluids that have been recently changed. The harmonic dampener was reportedly replaced recently with an OEM unit.
