• The attached Carfax Vehicle History Report (click on “Carfax 1-Owner” image above) lists no mileage discrepancies in this BMW’s past. It also confirms that this vehicle has been registered in Oregon by one owner since new.
• According to the window sticker pictured in the gallery, this M5 had an original MSRP of $72,645 and came equipped with 18-inch Style 65 wheels, xenon headlights, fog lights, a sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, wood interior trim, rear sunshades, dual-zone automatic climate control, and cruise control, among others listed below.
• Modifications include European-style facelifted headlights, an AVIN head unit, and a TEC cup-holder.
• Heralded by brand enthusiasts as the best of its breed, the “E39”-generation M5 arrived in America for the 2000 model year. It was the first of several M-developed cars powered by a V8 engine, and it was exclusively available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Car & Driver crowned it “the most desirable sedan in the world” in 2000.
• Power comes from the “S62” 4.9-liter V8, rated at 394 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission.

Known Flaws

• The attached Carfax history report indicates that this M5 sustained “minor damage” to the front and rear in August 2014. The original owner reported that the front bumper, rear spoiler, various badges, and the wheel caps were replaced and that the trunk lid was repaired as a result. The original owner informed us that the damage was caused by someone trying to steal parts from the vehicle. Documentation corresponding to the repair is provided via the Dropbox link (above) in the corresponding “Window Sticker & Service Records” folder.
• The original owner informed us that in October 2010 the vehicle was sideswiped on the passenger’s side. The passenger’s side doors and mirror were repainted as a result of the incident. The original owner also reported that in May 2016, the rear bumper, right and left fenders, and the hood, were repainted due to repair rock chips and other small cosmetic imperfections.
